He attended Chingford County High School in Ridgeway Park, Chingford and took great interest in the sport of football. His parents were both huge fans of Manchester United, and would often travel 200 miles (320 km) to Old Trafford from London to attend the team’s home game matches.
Beckham inherited his love for the game and for Manchester United from his parents, and attended Bobby Charlton’s soccer schools in Manchester. This awarded him his first training session with Barcelona. He also played for a local youth team called Ridgeway Rovers, later being awarded Under-15 Player of the Year in 1990 on a two-year stint with Brimsdown Rovers.

Beckham began his professional football career with Manchester United, signing as a trainer on July 8, 1991. He went on to help the club win the FA Youth Cup in May 1992.
On December 7, 1994 Beckham made his Champions League debut, scoring a goal in 4-0 home victory. Later, he then went to Preston North End in the 1994-1995 season, scoring two goals in five matches. From 1995-1996, Beckham returned to Manchester and made his Premier League debut in a match against leeds. Beckham announced in May 2013 that he would be retiring, playing his final season with Paris Saint Germain.
