Early Life and Education

Andrew Tate was born December 14, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is the son of late chess master, Emory Andrew Tate II, a trailblazing African-American chess player.

He has a brother named Tristan and a sister named Janey. His father was a former athlete and wrestler who served in the military. Tate has even once said on the Nelk Podcast that his father was also a former CIA agent, although this has yet to be confirmed. Tate prides himself in his roots and his father was a big role model for him growing up, although he was rarely around.

At age 4, Tate took second place in the county wrestling championship in kindergarten. However, things began to change once his family moved to Luton, England and his father was no longer in the picture. By age 11, he was considered the ”man of the house” and enrolled in martial arts and defense training. This would only be the beginning, as his propensity for fighting and self defense would funnel him into a successful kickboxing career.

Andrew Tate Kickboxing Career

Andrew Tate began his professional kickboxing career in 2005, winning the International Sports Karate Association (ISKA) full contact cruiserweight championshipHe would later go on to win his first IKSA kickboxing title, beating out Randall in the fifth round in Derby, England in April 2009.

Tate’s boxing career began to take off crushing two major victories winning the IKF British Cruiserweight title against Daniel Hughes with a first-round KO. Later, he went on to fight for the first time in the IKSA World Full-Contact Light Heavyweight Championship in France. He lost the fight to Jean Luc Benoit in an unprecedented 12 round fight, in belief that he was the true winner. He would re-match Benoit three months later in Luton, England, in an impressive KO win in the 8th round.

On December 12, 2012, Tate participated in the Enfusion Trial of the Gladiators Tournament, winning the runner-up in the 85 kg category. He later avenged his 2011 loss to Vincent Petitjean in 2013, winning his second ISKA world title via split decision. Tate defended his title one year later, stopping Cyril Vetter in the first round.

In 2013, Tate amassed four separate victories in the Enfusion Live Ring tournament over David Radeff, Marino Schouten, Marlon Hunt and Laszlo Szabo. He later participated in a four-man tournament to determine who will be crowned as the 85 kg world champion. Unfortunately, Tate lost to in the semi-finals to Miroslav Cingel, via unanimous decision. Despite the loss, Tate’s hunger for revenge was ingrained deep within him. Tate has the opportunity to fight in the Enfusion Live 90 kg championship against Wendell Roche on June 28, 2014, going on to win in the second round.
